Our study of HCV areas in RSPO new plantings on Borneo found that currently, HCV areas provide few additional connectivity benefits for species moving through the oil palm landscape, because forest cover is very low in many set-asides. However, if these areas were to be fully reforested, there would be substantial conservation benefits.
